The big quit
More Brits than ever before are looking for a new job as of January 2022, new data has revealed.
What’s more, it seems that a change from the office is the top priority for Brits, with paramedic and counsellor ranking as the most in-demand positions.
We used search data to assess the current state of what has been termed “the great resignation” to find that searches for the job application website, Indeed, were at an all-time high as of January 2022.
This could be attributed to the usual cases of itchy feet in the new year, with the effects of Covid-19 very likely to have further influenced the “Big Quit”.

04
Social Worker
05
Train Driver
06

07

08

Not one of the top 10 most popular jobs involve an office setup, indicating that Brits are looking for more freedom, flexibility and variety in their careers.
Commenting on the data, EZ Shopper’s Director, Will Driscoll, said:
“It’s clear to see from the data that ‘the great resignation’ is very much underway, and who’s really surprised? We’ve all got at least a few friends who have been suffering from burnout throughout the pandemic, and in a post-covid world many of us are reassessing all areas of our lives including our career paths.”
“A toxic or uncomfortable workplace can have a huge impact on your mental and physical health. There are certainly ways to improve your office environment, from your desk setup to your colleague interactions; however, the new year could be the time to take the plunge and go for that role you’ve been dreaming of after all these years.”
If you’re looking to shake up your office or WFH setup, standing desks can vastly improve your mental and physical health.
